We are so excited that highlands (a breed that was considered 'at risk') are so popular on social media right now but just in case you are new to owning cattle/highlands, here are a few things to think about:

• Our highlands are purebred and "mid-size". At maturity they are generally 42 - 48" at the hook. We will not have smaller stature hihglands (mini- or micro-) for some time.

• We believe that animals require daily handling to remain friendly and pet-like. While highlands are very docile and our higlands are certainly friendly now, we don't expect them to remain pets without regular contact.

• Highlands require up to 1 acre per 1-2 animals and simply must have shade and an ample source of water at all times.

• Cows are herd animals and require at least one other cow
